June 2009 Update

Peyton Walking

Galen Riding A Bike

Some Pictures

Hey Family and Friends,

Well, here’s to another month and we are heading into July. It has been a quick summer. It is heating up here in Italy with humidity being added into the equation. Oh Joy! So here comes to living at the pool and staying indoors in air-conditioning when it is possible. The kids have been doing very well. They are both in full day Childcare now. Peyton is doing well with it, as happy as can be. And Peyton has done exceptionally well with the change. He is adjusting and settling in with his new friends and new teacher. We just think, 1 more year and then he qualifies for free school….Kindergarten! (Wahoo!)

Lets see here, what has happened in a month. Well, Peyton is up and walking more now. He pulls himself up on something and then starts going. His balance is getting better, but we still aren’t full out going yet. He stood up by himself for the first time the other day, but hasn’t done it again since. At least we know he can do it now! And he is getting way more teeth. They are finally all starting to come in and thankfully you can’t tell. He is such a happy kid, you just can’t tell if there is something wrong with him (unless he is tired and rubbing his eyes).

Galen has learned a new skill. Riding a bike. Granted, we are using the training wheels, but for the first time this week, he went and got on his bike and started going by himself. Usually he wanted one of us holding onto the bike. Now he just bikes around the yard with the dogs following behind. it is really cool to see. He is also swimming like no other and getting braver and braver. heading down into the deep end and learning how ot do some simple swimming strokes (doggy paddle is always a favorite).

Both kids are shooting up like weeds. Galen is so tall, he needs size 5 or 6 in boys, but then everything else is huge and baggy. So can we say slim or long and lean styles! Oh My Lord! And Peyton is staying where he is as far as chunk wise, but he is still shooting up as well. Both happy kids that are loving life and enjoying their days of summer.

Brandon and I are staying busy with work. Brandon just finished his first 2 classes of college at AMU (American Military University). He is glad to have gotten the last two “basic” courses out of the way and is now focused on intelligence courses. He will start his next course in August, as he has some things coming up in work that will just take away from his ability to do school work during July. As for myself, I am still personal training and teaching classes and working at the TRICARE office.

We still have no update as to what we will be doing at the end of this summer. We are toggling back and forth with the idea of Brandon staying in the Army or getting out. I have also come across some opportunities that would keep us here in Europe, myself as a civilian worker, and I have also applied for several jobs throughout the U.S. So we are just waiting to see how our cards fall and what happens within the next month. Hopefully we should have an update on our future status by August. Will keep you posted.

I hope that you all enjoy the videos and the slideshows. I apologize for the lack of pictures, but I am not a big camera person, althought I really need to change this. We hope that everyone is doing well and will update again soon!

Ciao!!!

Some Pics

Hello Family and Friends,

Well, we have made it through almost the 1st half of 2009. Where has the time gone? We celebrated Galen’s 4th birthday on April 26th and will be celebrating Peyton’s 1st Birthday tomorrow. The boys are just growing up too fast it seems. Galen has been busy with school and has made some leaps and bounds during the past 5 months. Peyton is really starting to walk along furniture and is now able to climb up on our furniture. He puts the “monkey” in monkey boy. It is crazy!

We spent Galen’s birthday with his friends at Burger King and then we went bowling. He had a really good time and was talking about it for a week! He can’t wait for his birthday party next year. Peyton’s birthday is going to be small and at home with the family. We will feed him the traditional homemade spaghetti and meatballs for dinner (will take pictures) and feeding of cake. The messier the better! So will try to get those pictures up as soon as possible.

other than that, things are going well for us here. We are staying busy as usual, but thankful that the summer is here. We hope that everyone is well and will try to post again soon.

Love Ya!

Easter 2009

Hello Everyone,

We just enjoyed our Easter and are gearing up for Galen’s Birthday next weekend, April 26th. Lots of kids at Burger King….thank goodness birthdays are only once a year. We had a very good Easter. The kids had Easter Baskets with limited amounts of candy…2 hyper kids don’t need a lot of candy. It was a really nice day outside as well, so they got to do an Easter Egg hunt outside. The Easter bunny was out hiding eggs at 0630 and then went in the house and had a good strong cup of coffee. :o ) It was a nice relaxing day with beautiful weather.

The kids have been doing really well. You can tell that we are heading into summer as the weather is warming up and the kids are full of romping energy from dawn til dusk. It feels like they are always on the go. School has been going really well for Galen still. His preschool program continues on through the summer, so there will be no break for him, which is actually what we prefer. Better just to keep them going and get it done and over with. Peyton is still a little crawling machine and has absolutely no desire to walk yet. He gets where he needs to really well between doing a regular crawl and the bear crawl. Why walk? Two Hilarious boys.

We officially cut Galen’s hair. Twas the time for the annual hair cut. With all of the hair that was on the ground,, you would have thought that there was a donation to “locks of love” happening. My god, the barber kept on cutting, and cutting and cutting…you thought there was no end to this boy hair. It is thick and shaggy. Now, it is short and controllable…..YAY!!! He looks a lot more grown-up now I think. So, at least for the summer, we will maintain the shorter hair cut as it will be cooler for him. But will grow it out for the winter as we like the long hair as well.

Anyways, just wanted to pass along some pictures of Galen and Peyton. They are two funny little boys. They keep us very entertained. We hope that everyone’s Easter was a wonderful time. Please take care and will try to keep you posted more often with even more pictures. Miss you all!
